The Event is organised by the Circolo Velico Cala Civette with the joint effort of the PuntAla Camping Resort, both based in Punta Ala.

The Committee will cooperate with a pool of Sailing Clubs of the Etruscan Coast and other National and International Class Associations. Due to the importance of the event we can obtain the sponsorship of all local and regional administrations involved so far.

Punta Ala is located in Tuscany, one of the most famous and attractive regions of central Italy. The proposed venue is situated by the Tyrrhenian sea, a portion of the wider temperate Mediterranean Sea.

Sea characteristic

The water temperature during the summer months is between 18° and 24° degrees Celsius. The waters are clean and certified by international organizations which control the quality of the environment.

Characteristics of the regatta area

The Gulf of Follonica, in front of the Island of Elba, encloses an area of the Mediterranean Sea well protected from strong currents and very strong winds.

During the summer months (April-October), regular afternoon thermal breeze, which make sailing pleasant and fun. The sea surface is never too rough and it allows good sailing even with strong winds; protected from strong currents and rough waves.

Characteristics of the landing area

The beach gently declines into the sea and allows the surf to break soon, making it always comfortable to exit and return. 400 mt. is the stretch of beach reserved to major sailing events. A water distribution system is available along the beach, allowing participants to easily rinse their boats. The beach area is subject to 24h surveillance.
